Street Fighter

es una serie de videojuegos de pelea creada por la compañía japonesa de software Capcom, cuya fama mundial se incrementó a partir del año 1991, cuando salió el Street Fighter II (anteriormente la compañía ya gozaba de un gran renombre gracias a juegos de arcade como Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Strider, Final Fight, etc.) Ya a partir de 1987 cuando apareció la primera parte de esta saga el juego gozaba de una gran popularidad en los salones recreativos (arcade, Coin-op o "maquinitas") teniendo miles de fans en todo el mundo ya que además se trataba de un excelente juego para la época, sin embargo fue su secuela la que provocó una verdadera revolución, dando paso a una nueva edad de oro de los salones de recreativas.
